Normally overseas, when BB was used in a network that is Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES), then add can be caused by IT-Security Policy. AND also the IT guy, because this policy prevents 3rd party program (eg OperaMini) make outbound connections, or do not allow us to turn off the firewall, or disable pasword not allow a series of annoying … and other specified later. The following article will help you open the lock is in the IT-policy.
How do you know BB was blocked by the IT-Policy or not?
~ You on Security Options> General settings, and if you see an item called the IT-Policy means your BB is so hated by this debt. Without this item, see the update.
Update: can check by going to Options => Status and press BUYR (with SureType-style keyboard, they must press multitab) If you see the words IT-enabled policy at the Voice and Data Usage usage, it means that your computer with IT-policy (not necessarily have been blocked).
So for U.S. users, how to throw it away? Here is the solution:
1: You need a Certificate Sync. Certificate Sync is included in the Blackberry Desktop Manager, but at default settings it will not appear.
You must make sure your Desktop Manager is installed using Blackberry mode Internet Service (BIS) and not Blackberry Enterprise Server. If the mode is to use BES, you can change modes by using BIS as the Add-Remove Programs, select the BB Desktop Manager, click Change / Remove, select Modify, (earlier if you choose BIS select BES) and add the Certificate Sync
2: You need to have policy.bin file, download it and copy the folder C: Program Files Research in Motion Blackberry (as Windows is installed on your C: drive offline)
3: Edit the registry a little. Before you do this you must disable Desktop Manager go.
You open the Registry Editor, to lock HKEY_Current_Users Software Research In Motion BlackBerry PolicyManager
Right click in the Policy Manager Folder and select New / String Value. Value is the name of the path, and content is: C: Program Files Research In Motion BlackBerry policy.bin
How to open Registry Editor: On the computer click Start, select Run, then type regedit and press enter.
4: Run Blackberry Desktop Manager, BB plugged into the computer, Verification and implementation of the Certificate Sync
Update: When performing this step you need internet connection after update data from the new Certificate Server, you click sync.
5: Enjoy. Now you can disable pasword, the OperaMini, JiveTalk … And many other problems can be overcome by this method will be more enjoyable if you’re self-discovery.![]()

@Ernest Chisompola: Not sure how I could help.
Did you get your berry from a company? It could be a policy preventing anything from being installed on it.
PS. I didn’t clearly understand much of what you were saying, either the forum’s encoding or it’s just me, or the typos (no offense). Also, don’t bash me for at least trying to provide some help.
Tried this 5 times and still have IT policy???
